Photos of Young People

Lesbian, Gay, Bi-attractional, Transgender, and Questioning youth face a difficult reality when asking for help. They can either be open about their sexuality and risk the scorn, misunderstanding, violence and rejection prevalent in society at large, scorn that can come from administration, staff, and even their “straight” peers in some programs, or they can choose silence or denial about their sexuality, revealing less than their helpers need to know and, ultimately, receive less from the program than they need and deserve.

The Center is here for young people in times of crisis and in times of celebration, but we could not be here at all if it was not for for all gifts and donations, large and small, that we receive from the community. Our operations rely on gifts from people who may never use our services, but who realize that our services are needed by some of the most vulnerable youth in our society.

Private donations are the key to paying for the necessary items such as utilities, insurance and routine maintenance, which are key to securing other dollars through grants and gifts.  In addition, although the Center does receive some state support, that support is not always sufficient to sustain the breadth of programming the Center provides.

Please consider making a gift to ensure all youth have access to a safe and supportive future. For those who can, making a monthly donation is a great way to support youth all year long.
