Message from HRC

It’s Friday the 13th...and I’m worried. In less than a year, American voters will head to the polls to cast their ballot for the next President of the United States. There are plenty of candidates still in the running — and what some of them are saying is downright terrifying.

HRC wants to encourage pro-equality voters to make an early commitment to vote next year because nothing is scarier than America electing a candidate that is expressly against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equality.

Don’t believe us?

YOU PICK: Which Candidate Is Scariest for LGBT Americans?

Elections are won with smart strategies and hard work. That’s why HRC is starting early to get pro-equality supporters to commit to vote ahead of the 2016 election. Can we count on you to pledge your vote as a Friend Of Equality in 2016?

We cannot let the opposition roll back the progress we’ve made in recent years. If America elects an anti-equality president, we could be faced with disastrous results: executive decisions that undo nondiscrimination protections for federal employees, a veto of the Equality Act, appointing a Supreme Court Justice who works to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges or worse…

You’ve been with us to make history. Together, we can write the next chapter for the history books — and it doesn’t have to be a horror story. Let’s unite to continue our path of progress for four more years and beyond.

Thank you,

Chad Griffin
HRC President
